Caleb, Purdue Bells, Chuck E Cheese, and Old Navy

This week I received a phone call from the librarian at the kids' school. She wanted to let me know that Caleb has "blown the top off the AR program" and she was going to reward him for reaching 400 points! WOW!! She wanted to make sure it was OK for Caleb to eat lunch with her in the library. She also wanted me to know that usually kids don't reach 400 points, and if they do, it is later in the year. She said there are really no other prizes because no one has ever gone over 400 points, so she would probably just have him eat with her each time he reaches the next 100 points. This really blew me away...how thankful we are to have a son who loves to read at this level!! I believe we may need to make a donation to the school to help fund the AR program (smile).

After I picked the girls up from class, we went to the library to take a picture of Caleb enjoying his lunch with the librarian. He was very happy because he got to choose the menu....his favorite...pizza ( and it was from Buck Creek Pizza, to boot)!

When I asked him how many points he thought he would get by the end of the year, I suggested 650 and he said, "No way mom...I'm going for 800!!" I guess we will see! We are way proud of this guy!

Friday night we had the Bells over for chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, and chocolate cake...YUM! I just love these students and it is a joy to have them in our home throughout the school year.

Tonight we took the kids to Chuck E Cheese....we had not been since April....HELLO.....so, off we went. Evan really enjoyed riding with Chuck E, for the first time. He stood up and played with the wheel while he danced around. Fun memories!

Earlier today, I ran to the mall to see if I could find any good deals...and I did!! I got $715 of clothes for $130 at Old Navy...including these black capri pants for about 68 cents!! Yep...50% of the lowest sticker, plus another 10% off with a coupon I had....can you say "cool deal!"

I also got Evan these two sweaters for under $3 for both and lots of other items for everyone in the house! I think I bought something like 50 things, so the average price for each item runs around $2.25. I got hoodie sweatshirts, jeans for the girls, pants for Evan, nice shorts for all the big kids, socks for Evan...the list goes on and on....oh, and flip-flops for me!

I also stopped in at Gordman's and got a winter coat for Evan to use next year....London Fog for $6!!! Whew! The last few days have been a whirlwind, but what a fun time it has been! Ta, ta for now!
