We went to eat at the Carnegie Deli because it came HIGHLY recommended by some friends of ours....and boy did we eat! Our waiter was the best, and let us break just about every rule possible.
We were greeted at the door and promptly seated in the back section of the deli. Perfect...no waiting in line, yay!! We were given menus and of course, we start looking to find the perfect food for a perfect day. While reading the menu, Sean notices that this is a CASH ONLY establishment....uh oh....
When the waiter came back, we told him that we didn't realize that it was cash only, so we were going to have to leave. After a few attempts to get us to pay cash (which would have taken the rest of our cash), he said we could pay with credit! Cool....we can pay with a credit card, problem solved!! Until, he told us it was a $12 minimum order for each person....yikes!!
When he returned to our table for the third time, Sean politely told him that there was no way our kids could eat all that food....so, he allowed us to not order the minimum for the girls....we also shared some of the food, which is a no, no as well.
For this particular evening, we told the kids that we were going to break the "clean your plate" rule. We were going to treat it like a buffet, and just eat what you can, but you better not say you are hungry later!!
He is the food we received...
I ordered a BLT and boy, was it ever a BLT...on steroids!! I was the first one to not finish my meal!

Sean ordered corned beef, something they are famous for...he didn't finish either...

The kids really enjoyed their chicken tenders as well as Sean and myself...they were the best I have ever had!!

I ordered onion rings too.....yummy, but there is no way I could eat all these. We left half a plate and Sean helped me eat them...
When I took this picture we had already eaten about five of them...

Instead of bread, you get pickles when you sit down at the Carnegie Deli of New York City...

Our waiter was kind enough to take our picture...

It was interesting, as we walked out of the deli after our dinner, several people "noticed" us leaving. It wasn't because the kids were not behaving, just simply the number of them. It was kind of funny...you could see it in their faces.... "are there any more?"....then we posed them under the pickle...

Thanks, Troy for telling us about this place...it made our New York Experience that much better! I can't leave this post without saying that going to the restroom was also an adventure for us, as it was located in the basement....very New York!
