Purdue Bells Overnight

Well, our camping trip was rained out this weekend, so we had an overnight at our house instead. We had a great time and just may switch our camping trip to an overnight next year too! What a great group of students I am blessed to work with this year...

It's Been Awhile

We have been very busy at the Beimfohr house this week! My best friend's house caught fire last Saturday and it has been a whirlwind of events since we got that call. We have been trying to help out as much as we can and that has taken priority
over everything else. The house and van are a total loss, but everyone is encouraged with the news that they were covered well and should be able to replace many items. Praise the Lord!! It's been a busy week for them also, just removing items from the house, working with insurances, finding clothes, etc.....and just dealing with the fact that they have lost almost everything they once had. They are doing extremely well, considering what has happened. God has been good in sparing their family and we have seen his mighty hand at work through this trial.

I hope to post more soon...I have a lot to catch up on....

But until then, I have to run off to a Bell show this afternoon and get geared up for the 3rd annual Purdue Bell Camping Overnight tonight!

Evan also wanted to show you that he is ready for the Christmas Show on the first official Christmas Show Shirt Day!!

Please pray for my friend and her family as we love them dearly and would like to see them back to normal as soon as possible. Thanks for the prayers and stay tuned!!

A Day in the Windy City

Saturday we took at trip to Chicago to get Sean's viola bow rehaired. The shop is located in downtown Chicago, so we thought we would make a day of it and take the kids to visit some landmarks of the city. Of course, we started off walking...

It didn't take long for me to spot a photo opportunity in front of the courthouse...

Evan was very amused by his new carseat toy. He was a very good boy all day...

Shortly after arriving, we saw a Buick commercial being filmed. That was pretty cool...

We also thought it was fun watching the window washers....we are a bunch of easily entertained people...

There is a McDonalds on every corner, so we thought it would be appropriate to go in for a snack and restroom break. I was surprised that the bathrooms were so clean...

Then it was off to the Sear's Tower, or newly renamed, Willis Tower Skydeck. Stepping out on that glass ledge was CRAZY!!!

We were also able to get a picture by the Chicago River...

We enjoyed our mid-day meal at Bubba Gump's Shrimp House....YUM, YUM, YUM!!!

This is how we all felt after eating our delicious food...

We also took another picture by Lake Michigan...

And the kids enjoyed the Chicago Maze...

We thought this sculpture was interesting...

A picture of the kids with Chicago in the distance...

We couldn't leave the city without a ride on the ferris wheel...

We had a wonderful time, and yes, we managed with all the kiddos! We figure this was just the trial run for our New York trip in October....can't wait for that!!

This is the back of the t-shirt. This is actually a picture of some of our group on the zip-line last year. The shirts turned out great!

Posing for a group photo...

Walking to the dining hall for breakfast...

Me and my best friend for life...

Troy,or Troll, as the girls call him...being silly with Emma...

And outside the tepee...

Doing a little zip-lining...(Sean and the girls)

Yes, that zip-line is way up there....

Can't wait until next year when I can jump in the lake too! This year, I was completely satisfied taking pictures and watching from a distance. Oh, and Evan slept his first entire night in the tepee!! He was an awesome camper!
