Fun Friday

Today I decided to do a little shopping....well, I guess you could say, a lot of shopping. There are several things that we need to purchase to get ready for the baby, and even though we have an Indy shopping trip planned in a few weeks, I thought I could get a lot of other shopping done here in Lafayette. I'm looking for all sorts of things...things for the baby, for closet reorganization, the shared room (Emma, Erin, and baby (yet to still be named), and just some basic household items that we have been putting off purchasing. I know I'm getting serious when I walk out of Sam's club with a box of Tide (180 loads), Downy (120 loads), All - Free and Clear (over 100 loads), and these...

One thing I'm really searching for and having no luck at all are quilts or bedspreads for the girls' twin beds. I went into TJ Maxx to see if they had anything. Of course, the story of my life since twins, they had one that I totally love, but not two. So, I meandered over to the baby section just to check things out and found this for the crib...

It also came with a sheet...

And a crib ruffle (so we can hide stuff under the crib)...

And a bumber...

I also found some cute 6-9 sleepers at Kohls for under $5 each and some onesies and a sleeper that I have been keeping my eye on at Macy's for $6.99...Poppy will like this pattern...

Of course, I found nothing in the girls bedding department at either of these stores, so I'm still looking.

For dinner, we went to Culvers....

The Purdue Bells entertained guests as they enjoyed their fabulous Culver's dinner...

And then we enjoyed our dinner when the show was over...

Needless to say, I was pooped when I got home and was fast asleep before 9:15 p.m. And now a new day rearranging furniture in the combo room and possibly cleaning out the kitchen cabinets! Have a great Saturday!

A Night Out

We had a good time Saturday night at an activity hosted my my dad and mom's church. We got a sitter and rode over to Logansport for a wonderful meal and program. We really had a good time. I got to see all my sisters at one time....this rarely happens except for holidays, so that was fun.

My dad and mom arrived early to secure a table for the majority of us...

We also brought along our Pastor and his wife for a night out...

My oldest sister and her husband sat with us too...

And here we are enjoying what was a fabulous dinner. We had such a great time and it was fun to see many people that I don't get many opportunites to be with anymore. We had a great time and the evening couldn't have been any better!

Only FOUR pounds!!!

This is going to be a short post because I need to head to the bed to lie down...my back is killing me!! Anyway, I'm so excited to report that I only gained FOUR pounds this month! This may not excite you, but for me this is a record. I usually gain anywhere from 8-10 lbs. easy. I guess walking those 17 miles last week paid off....so to celebrate, I went home and ate leftover pizza for lunch and some chocolate. I know I can't keep doing that, but it was fun today! I'm up for the challenge to see if I can do it again next month....we'll see!!

Valentine's Dinner

Saturday night we had our Valentine's dinner. We had a great time as a family and it was fun for the kids to eat at the "decked out with heart everything" table. We hope you had a wonderful Valentine's day too!

Oh, and those pretty flowers on the table....those were from my valentine.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Our newest family picture...

Today we decorated cookies for our Valentine's celebration that we will have tomorrow evening. Everyone got in on the action and I have to say that we produced so pretty nice cookies. Mmmm....I can't wait until tomorrow...

We even made a cake...

So, tomorrow we will have our family spaghetti dinner complete with heart plates, sparkling juice, and all the goodies we made today. We hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day!

23 Weeks and Counting

Today the kids and I went to Target and made a registry of all the things that we need for the new baby. They had fun picking things out for the registry and, um...for themselves from the WII and LEGO sections (of course, they had to use their own money).

By the way, I found this cute crib set. It's called Tiddliwinks Under the Sea, but unfortunately it is not being carried in the Target stores any longer. I can buy it online if I want, but if you see it in a Target store (it's drastically reduced in price in the stores), let me know. I'm looking for the 4 piece crib set and mobile. They are sold separately.

This week we are enjoying some time off of our hectic schedule. The boys are on a school break, so it's nice to just catch up on some things, have friends over, and just chill out.

Yesterday marked the 23 week milestone...here's to 17 more weeks!

Baby Boy Clothes Update

Here are some of the cute outfits that we have been collecting for the baby. He is getting quite a collection and I am having fun gathering items along the way. I will start with the sleepers that my Aunt Mary bought for him...

And then, of course, Nena has been doing her shopping as well...she was so excited to get this cute little outfit with a hat for about $5 (at Dillard's - good deal!)...

I like this one...

Baby's need bath towels too. Nena bought the duck and I bought the frog...this kid is even going to bathe in style...

I found these cute layette sets at Macy's online for only $11.99 each. Each set comes with a long and short sleeve onesie, two pairs of pants, a jacket, and a hat! I couldn't pass any of them up. We have cars in baby blue...

Here's the hat. I forgot to put it in the other picture...

Ducks in yellow...

And bears in gray...

Some of my favorites are the nightgowns...

And I love this little hat...

And what about these cute bibs? These are a must have...

And body suits that match the bibs, of course...

And last, but not least...every baby need scratch mittens. I thought these were so cute...

I decided not to bore you with our collection of onesies and socks, but we are doing well in that area too. It has been so much fun shopping for this new little guy and I have to say that there is still more to do....right Nena? Next stop, Carter's outlet in Indy...until then...

Snow Day

Last week the kids enjoyed a snow day from school. Since they had extra time, we thought it would be a good idea to take advantage of the snow itself. Here is a picture of Justin coming in for the kill...

Playing in the snow...

Emma loves the snow...

Working together...

Inside for a warm-up...
