Diggin' the CVS Deals!

Well, I have decided to venture out on another store to see if I can score some sweet deals. I have never been a big CVS shopper, but I decided to give it a try and see if I like it. Well, I like.....big time!

Let me explain why...

Last week, I bought two Crest mouthwashes and an Aussie conditioner and spent $5.68.
I received in return, $9 worth of Extra Care Bucks that don't expire for a month!! That was way cool. I was sure I would find something I could buy with the ECB...like milk, or something we needed. I certainly was not going to let them go to waste. So, for last week, I decided I was happy with CVS.

This week, I am totally ecstatic with CVS and here's why...

I was able to purchase all of these huge wipe refill packages at CVS last night. The deal was good to start with....$2.50 a pack....WHAT????...only $2.50 a pack? I about started hyperventilating!! These things sell for over $7.00 a bag and I am doing great to get them for $4.50 with coupons!!

Anyway, I purchased 4 packages, used $1.00 worth of coupons and my $9.00 in ECB from last week. I only paid 70 cents for all for packs. Now, for some of you, this may not be exciting, but for a mother of a baby....this is a gift from heaven!

You may say...."Well, really, you spent $9.00 on the wipes.", and I suppose you could argue that point. But if you look at last week's purchases, you can't refute the fact that I got two mouthwashes, one conditioner, plus 4 HUGE packs of wipes for only $6.38!! Now, that's the kind of bargaining I like to do! Yay!

I was able to purchase more today and I won't go into detail about HOW MANY I purchased, but you would be safe to say that we are stocked up for awhile!

Caleb helped me by entering all the codes on the Huggies site for even more rewards. Thanks Caleb!

And the little Mr. for whom the wipes are for...tada....

I really love shopping at Meijer, but CVS may be a very close second....definetly easier to shop than Walgreens any day!

If you are reading this on Tuesday night, I here this deal is good through tonight, so if you need wipes, you may want to run out a grab some before it's too late!

Look Mom!! I Can Stand!

Evan has found a new way to pass the time. He loves to stand and hold onto his play yard.

Oops!! Sometimes he falls over, but he never hits his head. He always lands like this....funny!

I prefer him to just sit and play. It will only be a matter of time before he is pulling up onto things all by himself. Oh dear...my baby is growing up!

Valentine Pics

We have been so busy lately and I haven't had time to post pictures, so for those of you who have been asking....here you go...

Let's start with my creative Valentine card from Sean.....and yes, he is ALWAYS this creative!!

Weekend Project

Over the weekend, Sean and the kids made an igloo in the backyard. They have had so much fun playing in it...especially since they had Monday off of school. Here are some pictures...

Meijer Mania Again

UPDATE: OK, so I want to make sure I am not confusing you. I was able to use previous Catalinas on my order today, so my "ending" cost may not be the same as someone who goes into the store without catalinas from a previous order.

Sean helped me figure it this way.... I went into the store with $7.50 worth of catalinas. I paid $15.20 out of pocket today, and walked out of the store with $14.00 worth of catalinas. If I treat the catalinas like cash, I really spent $22.50-$14.00 which equals $8.50. You could also say I spent $15.20 out of pocket since that is what I actually charged, but I like to deduct the new catalinas since I ALWAYS spend them at Meijer so I can reap the reward of receiving them.

So, I have changed the amount to $8.50 for this order.....still an awesome deal!!

Question on the BC Potatoes: You buy 5 boxes and Meijer deducts $2.00 instantly, so they ring up for 60 cents each. You now have a balance of $3.00. You pay the $3.00, and a $3.00 catalina is printed off for you. Whether you use that catalina to pay for another item or save it until next week, you still have $3.00 free dollars to use on merchandise, therefore the potatoes are FREE!! You can not roll the BC catalinas, at least at the Lafayette store, so you may have to pay the $3.00 for each order up front, but if you spend those catalinas the next time you are in the store, again your potatoes are FREE! I hope this helps!

The deals are sweet at Meijer this week and now we are stocked up on many items that we will use all year long! On Monday, I stopped in to do my weekly shopping and was pretty excited that I only spent $47.07 and brought home $121.77 worth of groceries, cleaning products, and a toothbrush for Evan :). I even had $7.50 worth of catalinas to use on my next order! Sweet deal, I thought....until....

As I was searching the internet for a site that lists all the catalinas with their beginning and ending dates, I found a site that lists all the Meijer specific catalina deals for the week (www.thecouponhigh.net). I totally love this site because it lists the deals with many of the links for the coupons you need to make the deal work so well....like FREE and almost FREE stuff.

I printed off the coupons and away Evan I went to Meijer this morning after taking the big kids to school. Let's just say, I will be checking this site on Mondays and shopping on Wednesdays from now on!! Here is what I brought home today:

20 boxes of Betty Crocker potatoes (FREE)
6 Bety Crocker frostings ($1.74)
4 Pillsbury refrigerated cookie dough ($2.00)
12 Yoplait Whipped Yogurts ($2.40)
3 Heluva Dips (FREE)
2 Bags of Chex Mix (FREE)
5 Betty Crocker fruit snacks (FREE)
4 Toaster Strudels ($1.92)
9 Betty Crocker Warm Delights (overage of $1.50)
2 Wanchai Ferry Dinner Kits ($1.98)
6 boxes of Hamburger Helper ($1.50)

I had $7.50 worth of catalinas from Monday, so after it was all said and done, I paid $15.20 out of pocket and walked away with $14.00 worth of catalinas to use on my next order. That means I got all this stuff for a whoppin' $8.50 (or something close to that)!!!! The order above reflects $10.04, but I think I received some extra freebie catalinas from Meijer or some other manufacturer.

If you want some good deals on the stuff above, I suggest going to the website above, printing your coupons, and going to Meijer!! And don't worry, I didn't take it all....Meijer is awesome at always having lots in stock and the shelves were full today! Now, get going!!

Weekend Deals

Saturday morning, Justin and I went out and did a little bargain shopping. My neighbor brought me some coupons last night, so it was fun to see what we could get with the extra stash of coupons.

I won't give you the entire list of stuff we got, but let's just say we got a lot of oatmeal, bodywash, hamburger helper, as well as a 16 count pack of batteries (with coupons for more P&G products on the inside of the package) - thanks Justin - he spotted this deal on his own!!

We also brought home free hairspray, Olay bodywash, and lots of "almost free" stuff....like razors, cookie mixes, candy, and yogurt.

The final scenario looks like this:

I spent $66. I have $10 worth of Target gift cards, $12 worth of Walgreens money, and after I submit the Olay rebate of $15, I got all this stuff for $29!!

Today was especially fun because Justin went with me. I was explaining things as we went along, and he was so funny. "Yea, Mom...cool..." was pretty much his response. I do, however, think he learned a little bit about shopping savvy!

I also have to tell you this. Last night, as I was matching my coupons to the weekly ads, Emma comes up to me and says...."Hey Mom, are you finding a decent sale?"
Mmmmm, I think this may be rubbing off on my kids!

We got $200 worth of food and supplies for a fraction of the cost.....about a 86% savings!!

And while I was gone...look what the others were up too!! Made me laugh.....Have a great weekend and go to Target!!

Gerber Puffs, Mom....Not Cheerios!!

Evan decided on Friday that he would rather eat Banana Puffs instead of Cheerios! Of course, he can't talk, but by the amount of Cheerios on the floor and the fact that there are Puffs on his tray and in his hands, kind of tells me he prefers them over Cheerios. He cracks me up!

ORANGE My Goodness!!

Oh boy!! We are stocked up on cinnamon rolls.....orange, cream cheese, and regular!! Meijer had a fantastic deal that I just found out about. When you buy 6 Pillsbury products (refrigerator breads), you get a $4 catalina to use on your next order....plus I had some great coupons to use along with this already great deal. This deal ends today unless the Pillsbury products are on sale again this week, so keep you eyes peeled for some more great deals. I think the catalina promotion runs through Feb. 21st.

Anyway, here is my deal that I scored tonight. This was totally worth leaving my warm, comfy house and venturing out to Meijer. It was even worth the comment that a stranger said to me....it was something like, "Looks like someone is hungry for cinnamon rolls!" And I replied...."Uh-huh....good price...I may even give some of them away." If he knew that I only paid $7.50 for all of these...30 cans of cinnamon rolls and 12 cans of crescent rolls....

And to make it an even better deal, I have this to use on my next order. So to sum the deal up, I really only spent $3.50!! That's less than 10 cents a can! Woot!

I think Justin's art work with my "deal" says it all!

How are we going to eat all these rolls? I was wondering that myself as I was purchasing them. The answer is that we probably won't be able to eat them all, so I will most likely be sharing. Yay! It's always good to share. Just keep in mind that if you are going to be staying at my house anytime soon, you will probably be eating a cinnamon roll!!
