More Good Shopping

Tonight Evan and I did a little bargain shopping while the kids were at church. We usually go to church too, but Evan has had a runny nose, so we opted to not infect the nursery workers. Sean had symphony rehearsal, so what better way to kill time than to go to Target and Meijer and hunt for deals! Here is what we came home with:

We got Betty Crocker Potatoes, Cookie Mixes, and Frosting, milk, OJ, cereal, margarine, Ragu, and tea!!

We hit a home run.....grand total was $10.21, plus when I go back to Meijer, I get a FREE gallon of milk, 2 dozen eggs, and I have a $2 coupon off my next order!!

Thanks Target and Meijer! And we also thank the Lord for his provision too!

When we got home, Evan was ready for his bath with his new toys!!

Then the "grease the piggy" routine...that's just a fancy way of saying "put lotion on the baby"....of course, the toys came with us...

Then to make everything just right, Aunt Serena called and we got to talk to her too! It's been a good day! Now, it's off to bed we go....good night!!

Meijer Mania

I thought I would see how many groceries I could get this week by using coupons, catalina, and Meijer Mealbox coupons...it takes A LOT of organization to do this without going absolutely crazy!! I used to do this all the time, but lately, I've given it a rest, figuring the extra savings wasn't worth my time. I'm still debating that issue, but I did really well today! Here is what I bought:

4 bottles of Green detergent
4 boxes of Gerber Yogurt Cereal
14 pkgs. of Nestle Cookie Dough (OK, I don't need all this myself, but Christmas is coming, and with Christmas, comes parties and extra treat times...I'm all set!)
1 jar of baby food (Free)
1 Huggies 72 ct. wipes
Head of lettuce
3 roma tomatoes
1 pkg. of 24 holiday cups
12 boxes of Kellogg's cereal
3 4 pks of Yoplait Yogurt - the new dessert kind...already ate one..VERY GOOD!
16 cans of cream of chicken soup (.33 each)
3 4 pks of margarine sticks
2 cans of Dole Pineapple
3 boxes of Jiffy mix
4 Pillsbury frosting
4 Pillsbury brownie mixes
2 jars of Ragu
1 Ocean Spray juice
1 Pillsbury quickbread
2 cans of Libby pumpkin
3 half gallons of Min. Maid OJ
2 liquid Crisco
2 milks

I paid only $95 and have $7 off my next order, plus a free milk, and half gallon of OJ too! This makes each item average the cost of only $1!!

So, now I have to put it all away, but that's OK. Time will only tell if I can continue to keep this up...it is kind of like a game though.....and Evan was a trooper! Until next time!

Sean's Family in A Nutshell

Sean has nine aunts and uncles on his dad's side of the family. I would like to introduce you to the ten siblings.....We recently were able to see all of them, with the exception of Suzanne, who passed away almost six years ago.

First we have Sean's dad, Siegmund. Here is a picture of grandma and grandpa with the kids...

Next is Sterling. This is a picture of him with Arianna, Sherwood's daughter...

Sherwood is third in line and he is married to Sarah...

It was good to see Sheryl. We don't get to see her very often...

And of course, Aunt Sylvia (or Sylvie is what we call her)...

Sandra is next...here is a picture of her with Valerie on the left...

Spencer is married to Valerie and they have two children, Laura and Nelson...

Laura and Nelson, with their mom, Valerie...

Sonders and Linda were wonderful hosts...

And Sarah (their daughter), with her new husband, Justin, was a beautiful bride...

Serena with us on a special visit to the store where she works...

I don't have a digital picture of Suzanne, but when I get one scanned in, I'll add it.

Here is a picture of Shannon (Sean's sister), on the left...

And I thought that it may be a good idea to post a few family pictures...Of course, Evan is not in this picture because it is last year's. Be on the look out for this year's family photo. I will post it after I have sent out the Christmas cards, but I'll just tell you now that it is really good!!

I am going to close this post with a picture of Sean and his grandmother...

I will probably be posting some more pictures after the holidays, so be sure to check back in if you are interested in knowing more about this clan!!

What a Deal!

Today Evan and I did a little Christmas shopping and while we were out, we hit the jackpot! We were at Wal-Mart looking through all the clearanced Halloween stuff and we found, not BooBerry cereal, but Frankenberry cereal.....21 boxes!! We paid a total of $10.29 for all that cereal, they were only .49 cents a box...yay!

We also found mac and cheese for .22 cents a box and an assortment of "dress up" outfits for the kids for Christmas.

Next, we went to Toy's R Us and found more "dress up" outfits for 90% off and candy for 50% off...BONUS!!

So, Christmas shopping started off with a bang and I can't wait to do some more shopping next week! I'll let you know if I find any good deals!

Catching up

It's been awhile and I figured I had some catching up to do!! Here are some of the things we have been doing this week....

The girls had a Farm Square Dance at school on Friday and they decided to go as piggys......of course, this had nothing to do with the swine flu, only that they have a myriad of pink clothes!

Here are some shots of different outfits that Evan had to endure for the Halloween weekend! He really did make a cute puppy. There are a few of those!

On Saturday, we went to Nena and Poppy's house so we could go to the Harvest Fair at their church. Before we went, Evan got a special Halloween gift from them. He loved it!

The big kids also got some stuff from Nena and Poppy too, including Bat Droppings from Poppy....they were actually pretty good!

Evan is 5 months old now. He is getting a personality and is lots of fun for the kids to play with. Here are some of the new things he has been doing this month...

He loves to talk, talk, talk, and smiles a lot.
He has tried several times to roll over and hasn't quite made it, but I'm sure it's going to happen soon.
He loves playing with his toys whether he is on the floor or in his highchair.
He has two little teeth that are poking through his gums as of Saturday morning.
He really loves his bath and continues to give our bathroom counter a splashing every time.
He feels the need to watch everything that the big kids are doing, even if he's reclined in the car seat he will hold his head up and try to see.
He is eating cereal. So far he really likes it with prunes and peaches.
He has decided that he doesn't like to drink from a bottle..uh,oh!
He has been to 9 states and two major cities (Chicago and New York)in his 5 short months of life. He is a great traveler!

Well, that's it for now. I can't wait to see what this month brings!
