Happy 50th Anniversary Alabama Style

One of the reasons we came to Alabama was to help throw a surprise 50th Wedding Anniversary party for my Aunt and Uncle. They are very special people. Here is a picture of my mom and cousin working on some of the party food...

Since we arrived in Alabama three days early, we had to have a place to hide out. My dad, mom, and one sister and her children hid out at one of my cousin's house, complete with pool...very, very, nice!

My family and my other sister and her family hung out at another cousin's house that is within about a minute drive. Here is a picture of his awesome backyard...

And a picture of him with the kids...

We worked for two days getting things ready for the party and it was a lot of fun to see it all come together. We had a special lady who has a party/food business in Fosters (this is where my aunt and uncle live) who helped us with all the major details including the cake. It tasted as good as it looked...

Here we are working on the main food table...

My cousin working on the punch...

The big surprise...

And the happy couple...

Happy Anniversary!

On the Road.....Again

On Wednesday morning, bright and early (5:30 a.m.), we left for another road trip...this time, it's a big one. Here are some shots of our early morning get away. Evan is ready to go...

....and all the other kids too...

We are so thankful that Evan slept almost the entire time...

And when he was awake, he was happy...

Yippee for happy babies!

I Really Am a Good Boy

For those of you who were at my house on Saturday, I just wanted to let you know that I really am a good boy. My mommy is so proud of me today because I took a good morning nap while she ran some errands and fed the big kids lunch. After I ate my lunch, I sat and smiled and tried to talk to Justin, Caleb, and mommy for a long time. Now I'm taking a nap in the swing. I just wanted to let you know that I really am a good boy and here's the proof...

When I'm Not Looking

This is what happens when I'm not looking...

Daddy and his humor keep us quite entertained...and here is a picture of Evan and me. We hadn't taken a picture of both of us in a while and I like this one...

Have a great weekend!

Happy Day

Evan is really starting to perfect his smile. Here are some shots of what we captured today...

We got a lot done today....swimming lessons, baked a cake, two loads of laundry, took the big kids to the library, I got a haircut, a little Goodwill shopping, and 3 big boy haircuts....What a day, but at least we were happy!

Evan is One Month Old

I can't believe Evan is one month old today! What a sweet baby you are. Here are the things you have been doing this month...

You slept 6 hours last night! Yipee!
You like for Mommy to hold you and for Daddy to play his music when you get fussy.
You are fun to dress up in all your new clothes.
You are very close to cooing, but not quite there yet.
You brothers and sisters are still just as excited about you now as they were the day we brought you home from the hospital.
Poppy and Nena make sure that not too much time goes by before they come to see you. They don't want to miss anything!

Today Mrs. Roe came to visit you....what a great time we had. We can't wait for her new little arrival to come soon!

Happy 1 month birthday, sweet boy!

Happy Birthday Justin

Today we celebrated Justin's birthday. We made his favorite dinner...fettuccine with bacon and peas and garlic bread. While I was making dinner, this is what he was doing...

Evan had been crying, but he decided he enjoyed sitting with his big brother. This was a good thing because we were all hungry!

We made the birthdays simple this year. I decorated cupcakes and the kids were fine with that. I decorated Justin's with M&M candies.

We had a good day. We started the morning off at swim lessons. It was kind of chilly, so Evan wore his jacket and pants that Wanda gave him. He looked so cute and was apparently comfortable because he slept the entire time!

Here is a funny face he made this morning. He is always making the kids laugh...

Well, after Saturday, we will "officially" be done celebrating the June birthdays...but keep your eyes open tomorrow for the 1 month old picture. I can't believe my baby will be 1 month tomorrow!
